Make in India vs free global economy discussed in Gulabi Nagar

Sri Jai Singh Kothari noted economist and editor, the "Nafa Nuksan" discussed on "Make in India  vs free global economy". He was speaking in a forum discussion organized by  Gulabi Nagar Vichar Manch at Scout and guide campus, Jaipur on Sunday, October 19, 2014.

Sri Jai Singh Kothari told that Prime minister Narendra Modi's step towards "Make in India campaign" is a welcome step. However, a blue print has yet to come for analyzing the same. He talked about various aspects of globalization and free trade. He also informed about behavior pattern of economy, finance and capital in free economy.

There are aspects of five production in present scenario 1. Research and development 2. Manufacturing of components 3. Assembling  4. Distribution 5. Flow of profit. He added that the visionaries of Make in India campaign has to analyze suitable aspect and plan to mobilize resources towards that direction. India has almost no infrastructure for R & D and it is also difficult to move for manufacturing components. Hence India can be an assembling hub.

Jai Singh Kothari opined that India has to go miles to be a manufacturing hub. The country has already been facing challenges from China and several other countries are in the queue to throw challenges. However, Indian can bank upon its human resources. Skill development is key to success while developing human resources.

Answering a question of Jyoti Kothari, additional convener of the Manch he told that India can do far better in service sector. However, we have to think beyond traditional services we are offering. He told that government can facilitate Indian workforce in finding jobs out side India. Identifying future scopes in global job market is difficult for a layman and government should engage experts to add value.

Subhash Bothra told that cultural exchange can be a good idea for knowing each other and also for earning dollars. Nitin Bagrecha, a high school student asked about fruitful education. Drashan Kothari, a young entrepreneur in IT was advised to start some services related to leisure and comfort.
